Mitchell (Michelle) Chikwakukire
Psychologist
Mitchell is a registered psychologist who holds her Bachelor of Psychological Science from Griffith University and a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychology from Deakin University. Additionally, Mitchell is a member of the Australian Psychology Society (APS).
Mitchell utilises an open and collaborative approach when working with individuals of varying backgrounds and circumstances. Mitchell has experience working with a range of mental health presentations in children, adolescents, adults and older adults. Mitchell’s experience has spanned between private practice, the not-for-profit sector and the aged-care setting.
With warmth and compassion, Mitchell has a flexible approach to therapy and addressing a client’s needs and primarily utilises Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) strategies. Mitchell also draws upon techniques from Schema Therapy; Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT); Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT); Solution-Focused Therapy as well as Supportive Psychotherapy and Exploratory Psychotherapy.
